Project Description
This house in Marysville is a Provincial style home with 4 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. The wish list from the clients included 4 bedrooms with large living areas and an alfresco area. They also wanted a lounge at the front of the home with picture windows looking down over the main township of Marysville. All of these features were incorporated in a contemporary look that used a mixture of colourbond cladding and radcon weatherboards. As the house was being built on a large slope, a single carport was designed under the front of the house to make the most of the hill.
The biggest difficulty we encountered with this build was that when the house was under construction (almost completed), the town was devastated by the Black Saturday bushfires and unfortunately, our house was lost. Country Lane Homes commenced the rebuilding of the house once the bushfire clean up was completed. We were the first building company back in Marysville after the fires.
The owners love their ‘weekender’ and have full intentions of one day renting it out but they enjoy it too much themselves at the moment. Their children also enjoy bringing their friends to see their country retreat.
